Sindhura Gadde, the 20-year-old
girl from Vijayawada, a vibrant
politico-cultural city in Andhra Pradesh of India, has made the Telugus
proud all over the world when she bagged the Pond's
Femina Miss India - World 2005 this month and qualified
to contest in the Miss World pageant this year. She
had not only won the crown of International acclaim when it comes the
Indians and the Diaspora, but also the admiration of many with her dictum that ? Beauty lies not in physical appearance, but in
the hearts of those who look at the beauty in all. True to her belief, she
is averse to the discrimination based on colour, creed or race.
Sindhura, who did most of her
career at Auckland in New Zealand and Australia,
has now made a conclusion for herself to lift the image of India
to the global level at all levels, besides tapping the real power of the
human resources worldwide. In fact, this young girl has a dream that
belongs to all lands, on the lines of her own universal philosophy.

| Coming under the fledging care of her mom, Sindhura took a bold decision to join the modelling when
she entered the mid of the teens. She donned the job of a curt anchor with ? Desi Hungama?, an Indian-owned TV
channel in NZ. Pursuing her studies in Pharmacology, Physiology and
Modelling simultaneously, she reached out to Australia where she proved her
mettle as a newsreader with TVNZ attaining enviable repute. She laid
special emphasis on covering youth-related news stories, which clicked
instantly. Coming to the lighter vein entertainment, Sindhura
played a key role in planning Dance, Pop and Quizzes with a preference to
the Bollywood. This had whetted her passion for
modelling with the classic touch of the Indian. At a time when modelling
worldwide had turned commercial, Sindhura brought
a human face to the profession, when she posed for the campaigns of the
Breast Cancer Society and Child Cancer Society in 2003. |

Not content with this, she further made deeper inroads into
the Fashion week contests in NZ. Her three year long-stint with Consumer
Link Market Research Company as Team Coordinator had really helped her
shape up the career towards her dreamt goal. She was Miss India NZ 2002 ? 1st runner up and Miss Auckland 2002 ? 2nd runner up.
When Sindhura made her debut as
public performer with NZTA Annual Celebrations in 2002, she could capture
the immediate attention of the audience and the success continued for the
next three years with her serial performances in New
Zealand and India. She further took part in
the Indian Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations held at NZ in the
consecutive years.
When the girl chose to stalk claim for the most-coveted
Indian Pageantry, she received the much-required thud from her parents.
When she talked to the reporters at
Hyderabad
recently, she made her mind and thinking clear. Though young, her bent of
mind is abundantly religious which she had inculcated from her mom. She
contends that she had approached the Pageantry with the same approach ? putting the best of
her efforts and leaving the rest to the divine providence. ?God has never created the Ugliness. Similarly, he never
created anything that holds animosity with the Nature. Those who look
beauty in others are representatives of the divine faith, which alone is
beautiful,? Sindhura
says.

Apart from wielding a fine cut figure, Sindhura
believes she lives to enjoy Nature to the maximum levels of comprehension.
Going by it, she loves skiing on the snowy mountains; and her favourite dish
is cooking desserts with chocolate flavour; and exploring the mysterious
beauty of the Gaza
pyramids.
A brilliant student, her track record cuts across the
fields of TV Anchoring, modelling and fashion shows, the beauty has green
vistas before her ? when
it comes to the Indian film industry. She possesses an additional advantage
thanks to the interest of the Telugu audience in her. Sindhura
has become a household name in Andhra Pradesh.
You can see Sindhura's
ambition extending to the Miss World pageantry. At the same time, she
believes that - Honour achieved through humanism is greater than the
reputation acquired through physical beauty.
